Creating conditions for change

Our Approach

We focus directly on the requirements of your organisation. We invest time in ensuring that we fully understand those requirements and the factors that have generated them. If we feel that the solutions you have identified are inappropriate we will tell you so. We will also tell you if we feel that we are unable to meet your requirements.

Resourcefulness
One of the key criteria we use to assess the appropriateness of our involvement is what we call 'the resourcefulness of the client system'. There are two aspects to this:

  • the resourcefulness of the target population - for example, the maturity of the middle-management group; the potential of the current team leaders to perform to the required level; the impact of internal politics at senior management level.
  • the resourcefulness of the 'internal consultants' - for example, the extent to which the HR or OD groups are able to initiate organisational change, exert the necessary influence and support management in implementing change.

Support
We investigate resourcefulness in depth because we believe that our interventions should be defined by the available resources (high or low) within the client system. We will keep our involvement to the minimum with the intention of supporting the client to mobilise their resources effectively in order to identify and achieve appropriate change.
